I feel like I m a broken recordhere I go again I Loved this bookI Loved this bookI Loved this book Yes, I know I say that A LOT So excuse me as I say it again let me say it againI Loved this book.Usually I devour books but man alive, this book, well let s just say, it ate me alive My emotions were pulled in, completely invested in Cecily, snatched away from me, shoved inside the wringer, rung out and left for all to see I was a bit of a sobbing mess You know the expression, wears their heart on their sleeve Yeah that s completely me Plus I m a people person through and through I love meeting people, I love making connections, I love creating new friendships and I ve got your back And yesI love my literary characters too I love my book friends That whole connecting and friends thing, yes it applies to books too So when I say this book ate me alive, it did I have loved this Longing for Home series When I saw there was a new one coming out, let me just tell you that I was watching that release date for when I could read it I have the first two books sitting pretty on my bookshelf at home nestled in with pretty much every Sarah M Eden book When I had an email pop up for the chance to read an ARC of this one, you better believe I said YES I was patiently waiting for the release date to get a little closer before I read and reviewed it and that time has finally come I stayed awake a little late last night reading, and yes, sobbing The tears were pouring down my face I kept sniffling and trying to hide those sniffles as well These characters Oh, how they feel like dear friends and family Their struggles from the first two books have shifted to different struggles and life altering circumstances that they don t quite know how to cope with, or even know how to grieve and move forward with life I want to tell you about several of the characters but here s the problem, if you haven t read the first books I might cause major spoilers for you I don t like giving spoilers so I m avoiding that.I will say that there is some pretty thick armor being worn by all these characters Miss Cecily Attwater has come to town, with her own armor of course, and is trying very diligent to find that little chink in it all If she can just uncover that maybe, just maybe, her student has a chance at learning how to survive the new circumstances of their life Otherwise, her own armor will just grow thicker to protect her own heart from defeat.I know part of my emotions are coming from learning of a dear friend s death last night she was almost 95 and lived a full life but sad to say goodbye and another friend struggling right now So when the scenes came talking about the loved ones who had died and possibly one dying, oh my heart cracked open Sarah Eden knows how to write characters and show their emotions without writing it word for word To borrow an Irish phrase, she knows very well how to Spin a Yarn These Irish characters and one very English character and a couple very American characters are walking a very fine tightrope, and the balancing pole is everyone s emotions If too much of one emotion gets in the way, it will all come falling down Watching, or rather, reading this balancing act and the healing that must occur to lighten the emotional pole was beautiful It was rough, and heart wrenching at times but beautiful.I m fine and emotions are under control now but for a little bit there, I let my armor down and let these characters into my heart for some good soul cleansing crying, and good emotional healing This is a difficult world with strength of character, and an impossible one without it That is the truth, and no denying it, Biddy said I also advocate for humility enough to accept help when it is needed and offered Content Clean Some sweet kisses, a few moments of peril but nothing graphic I d recommend for lover s of historical fiction, clean romances, and just beautiful soul searching feel good reads I Loved it would somebody stop that broken record please I received an ARC from the publisher All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.Happy Reading It s no secret that I love Sarah Eden s books This series is absolutely one of my favorites and this book Oh my heart Seriously It s full of depth and emotion and my heart was one hundred percent engaged I have loved Tavish from the very beginning of this series I think I might be in love with his name alone Tavish is the very best sort of person and I was SO grateful this book brought about some healing, peace and happiness for him It was a long, hard fought battle emotional and fantastic Man, I love Tavish LOVE him.Cecily earned a place in my heart right next to Tavish She sort of wormed her way in and took up space It happened with no conscious effort on my part I felt all sorts of things for Cecily but mostly I admired her She has a strength of character that I wish I had She is someone who rises up no matter what Through heartache, prejudice, physical pain and limitations, loneliness and sorrow, Cecily rises up I could seriously go on and on about this book I really loved everything about it There is a song in this book and a scene that yanked my heart out If you have ever loved someone and lost them, you will feel it s power So emotional I would highly recommend reading this series and in order if you can It will provideof an emotional connection this story and it s characters But, if you cannot read them all, this book can stand alone, I think. Okay, in order to prep for reading this book I read the first two in the series I had read the first book back when it was released, and hadn t read the second book yet and then read Love Remains all in two days It was pretty awesome so be so immersed in Hope Springs, Wyoming for three books in a row As much I I love Katie from Longing for Home, there was so much anxiety and almost a feeling of hopelessness in the circumstances of the feuding town Love Remains takes place after the feud is resolved so I didn t feel so heavy reading it and wasfocused on Tavish and Cecily It s definitely my favorite of the series and can be read well as a stand alone, although reading the series in order gives you a better sense of the town and all the characters in the O Connor family and community, as well as the history there.I loved that this third book delves into the deeper layers of Tavish and his struggles He is so charming and ready to make the people around him laugh and smile, but he s not as light hearted as he seems Cecily is straight forward and blunt, the nature of her job has her telling things as she sees them She has so much confidence, and yet has hidden vulnerabilities that surface during her time in Hope Springs with the O Connors There has been so much loss and heartbreak, and dealing with grief is a major theme of the book I was brought to tears no less than three times, and was touched by the emotion that permeates from the characters and story But don t worry, there is plenty of humor and sweetness in this love story between two people who are initially frustrated with each other, then align purposes and form a friendship that develops intoas their attraction grows and they provide support in each other s most heart wrenching moments I received a complimentary copy of the book all opinions in this review are my own I absolutely loved this book and neglected pretty much everything else to read Author Sarah Eden has created a beautiful love story in the unforgettable town of Hope Springs The O Connor family is back, and I loved the appearances by all of them Cecily and Tavish are the perfect couple meaning perfect for each other Of course, they are too stubborn to realize it I loved the humor, the poignancy, and the depth Bravo Tavish O Connor is losing his family His sister and brother in law are thinking of moving back to the city His other sister is withdrawing and reluctant to speak with others One of his brothers is suffering headaches and depression after an altercation with an anti Irish mob And his youngest brother, Finbarr, is trapped in an emotional and physical darkness after losing his vision due to a fire.Enter Cecily The young woman hired by the O Connors to teach Finbarr How to tie his shoes, how to light a fire, how to live Cecily is an expert Her sight has been waning since she was twelve, and she has committed herself to helping others What Cecily doesn t realize, when she takes the job, is that saving Finbarr may require saving the entire O Conner clan A task that would be a great deal easier if they weren t diametrically opposed to her very English existence. And if she wasn t falling in love with Tavish Love Remains is a beautiful emotional read, taking the reader on a journey through grief, love, loss, family, and the wonders of finding one s home. My favorite summer read thus far. I have really come to love the people most of them who live in Hope Springs, WY and after a heart wrenching love triangle, I was delighted to read about the one who still needed to find love These books really do need to be read in order to fully appreciate the characters and story line. After just reading Book 2 in the series, I was somewhat stunned by the way the Irish citizens of Hope Springs treated Cecily, an Englishwoman Can I just say, what s up with the prejudice They were treated very poorly and unfairly, yet seem to have no problem turning around and dishing it right back to someone who definitely doesn t deserve it You d think they d learn to be empathetic by their experiences, especially when all Cecily is there to do is to help one of their own.I love characters with a little spitfire and the lively banter between Cecily and Tavish was extremely fun, humorous, sweet, and perfect They have such quick wit and great personalities and I adored them both I also love Granny so much she is a joy and really makes me miss my own grandma.Sometimes I wondered just how much is expected for these people to endure, but there are tender moments that shine through the difficult times and although this book is tough to read here and there, it s definitely worth it, for it is well written and full of heart.Content mild romance some mildly difficult experiences to endure some prejudice I received a copy, which did not influence my opinion in any way. I have waited for this book since 2014 when Hope Springs was published Tavish needed a story I loved his character and wanted to read about him finding his match The wait is over, and it was worth the wait Tavish is a good guy He loves his family and his community He is a giver, he puts his others needs before his own He keeps telling everyone that he will make things right He is amazing, but at the same time he is lonely.Cecily is a feisty lady She can hold her own against the O Connor family She is faced with a student who doesn t want to progress, an Irish family who holds grudges against the English she is from England , and dealing with her progressive blindness She keeps her head up and teaches others in spite of the obstacles I loved her I loved her for Tavish I appreciated being brought back to Hope Springs, a town that has faces prejudice and trials This book adds another layer and looks at judging someone because of the country where they are born I find this a timely theme It s a painful process to eliminate prejudice, and Hope Springs gets another lesson It would be nice if we could all see the importance of this problem.I think the books should be read in order Start with Longing for Home It helps to realize the characters and see what Tavish has endured in the past to fully appreciate this book It could be read alone but I highly recommend all of the books and reading them in order.Sarah Eden is one of my go to author s for a reason She is an amazing story teller.Source I received complimentary eBook to participate in a book tour All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own. &FREE BOOK ☚ Love Remains (Longing for Home #3) ↵ From The USA Today Bestselling Author Of The Longing For Home Series, LOVE REMAINS Is A New Romance Novel Set In The Beloved World Of Hope SpringsFor Nearly A Year, Tavish O Connor Has Carried The Crushing Weight Of His Family S Future On His Shoulders He Has Taken On The Care Of His Youngest Brother, Finbarr, Who Lost His Eyesight In A Terrible Accident But The Lad Needs Than Tavish Can Provide Finbarr Needs HopeCecily Attwater Specializes In Hope As A Tutor To The Newly Blind, She Has Dedicated Her Life To Helping Others Overcome The Obstacles She Herself Has Conquered Her New Assignment In A Remote Corner Of Wyoming Proves Trickier Than Usual Finbarr Refuses To Learn To Make Matters Worse, His Family And The Other Irish Townspeople Are Less Than Thrilled To Discover An Englishwoman In Their HavenCecily S Only Hope Lies In Securing The Cooperation Of Her Pupil S Brother, Tavish, Who Happens To Be Her Harshest Critic And Quite Possibly The Most Frustrating Man She S Ever Known For Finbarr S Sake, Tavish And Cecily Forge An Uneasy Alliance That, As The Weeks Pass, Tiptoes Toward Something Deeper Than Either Dares Admit Or Face, And Toward A Future They Know To Be Impossible There Can Be No Hope Of A Happy Outcome For An Irish Man And An English Woman Amongst A People Reeling From Violence And Centuries Of Hatred Between Their Two Homelands Masterfully crafted, deeply poignant, and beautifully written, Love Remains is another triumph for Sarah M Eden When I read the first two books in the Hope Springs series, I was instantly drawn to the swoon worthy Tavish, and couldn t wait to read his journey to find his much deserved happily ever after This bookthan delivered It was full of surprises, complex characters, heart melting moments, witty banter, and true conflicts that could not be easily solved The heroine is a newcomer to the town and she brings with her an intriguing mix of strength, independence and haunting vulnerability If you are looking for a sweet, or clean romance that still has plenty of depth, conflict, and chemistry, this should go at the top of your to be read list.Though it is not necessary to read the first two books in the series before reading this stand alone novel, I do recommend it to fully understand Tavish s character and backstory better.
