John Milton Don t Get on His Bad SideI read this book as part of my Kindle Unlimited membership I would like to thank the author for partnering with KU so I have access to this book HeadhuntersOne of Milton s adversaries reappears He really isn t happy with Milton although Milton is ready to let bygones be bygones One is much stronger than the other and the other iscunning The Ninth StepIf you aren t familiar with steps in The Big Book or even what it is, you are SO lucky Please take a moment to look it up Then read the epigraph at beginning of this book which spells out the Ninth Step, considered by many addicts of any kind to be the hardest of all I can t wait Milton meets a man with a big secret He wants to get the secret off his chest Milton took care of the secret when his friend couldn t The JungleI am pretty sure you have heard of this migrant camp in France which no French official or citizen seems to want, yet there it sits Milton meets a young man whose sister was sold into sex slavery Milton is determined to get her back Woe be to the sex slavers As before, with the first two omnbuses has to look that up , John Milton is a pretty bad guy, bent on repentance for all the bad he s done before Only Milton does the good as he did the bad with his brains Of course his capabilities with weapons, his ability to become invisible not literally of course , his body s ability to not only inflict pain or death, and his body s ability to take pain not death, so far anyway make Milton a man up there with Tanner, Mr Smith, Reacher, etc Loved it I certainly hope there are , available through KU Hooray Three Mark Dawson s novels are a must readMy wife and I are avid readers We try to find authors who are not well known to many and if we find them, we want everyone to know Mark Dawson is one of these rare finds His series about John Milton have been so well written I find it difficult to take a break from his novels Yet , what writer can any of us say that about He is in the league with Brad Thor, Daniel Silva, and Vince Flynn to name a few If you haven t read Mark Dawson, try book one You won t be disappointed Dr C. The John Milton series continues to be full of thrills and spills in these, the 3rd boxed set In it, John heads off to Australia and then returns to England but things aren t safe and cozy for him there either.Although in many ways traditional thrillers, and likely to appeal to fans of that genre, one of the better things about this series is that John travels around and spends a lot of time interacting with people on the edges of society In this collection, John works as a sheep shearer in Australia, at a cabbie s shelter in London, and plunges into the world of desperate refugees from Africa Each location and situation is unique and described with plenty of living detail, plunging the reader into these often down and out worlds And, of course, there s plenty of guns and action. On the other hand, these particular books all had the same plot device that I find very irritating, in which a lot of the action is generated by the actions of a female character whom John is trying to protect, but who does ill advised things that plunge them both back into even worse danger Occasionally that can be forgiven although it is a lazy plot device but reading it three times in a row irritated me a bit It was especially disappointing because the previous books had some really good female characters Anyway, that was a bit of a bummer for me, but overall these are very good thrillers that are sure to be enjoyed by thriller fans everywhere. Great boxed set While I would gladly have bought these books individually, it was nice that they were in a set like this I have provided comments on each of the books separately I will say is nice to see how John Milton, the main character in the series, has developed over the course of time He seems to be becomingfocused on doing right in order to put to rest the demons that haunt him from all his years of service to his government Nice to see someone who has retired yet still gets to use the skills he worked so hard to acquire. This is a very fun series Quite reminiscent of the James Bond novels I read as a teenager 50 years ago The author is clever and a refreshingly good writer He is also quite prolific and I look forward to readingof his work after I have finished this bunch of books The main character is quirky enough to be interesting, While remaining a first class bad ass The action is great and totally ridiculous but again totally fun. Love these books Have read the series twice now Always moving alongLove the books Love they re in a boxed sets it s easier to keep reading Read the series twice It flows really well He is independent yet relies on others when needed Not a self observed hero There is a lot about AA in there but he doesn t stuff it down your throat just shows the struggles of not drinking any. Good storyline Characters have somewhat realistic capabilities.I have developed a real admiration for John s quests To help those who have no one to turn to for help TheI read these stories, theandfond I become of the main character I would like to see him find a measure of happiness with a woman as I thought he might with Mattie in Australiaeven if for just a short while Love these books, hard to put down &FREE PDF ☛ The John Milton Series ↟ THE SEVENTH, EIGHTH AND NINTH NOVELS IN THE SERIES THAT READERS ARE DESCRIBING AS THE NEW JACK REACHER You Won T Be Able To Put Down These NearlyPages Of Espionage, Revenge, Thrills And Spills From The Bourne Esque HEADHUNTERS, To Dark Criminal Enterprise Of THE NINTH STEP And The Thrilling THE JUNGLE, Don T Start This Collection Late At Night You Won T Be Able To Put It Down MEET JOHN MILTONHe Considers Himself An Artisan A Craftsman His Trade Is Murder Milton Is The Man The Government Sends After You When Everything Else Has Failed Ruthless Brilliant Anonymous Lethal You Wouldn T Pick Him Out Of A Crowd But You Wouldn T Want To Be On His ListBut Now, After Ten Years, He S Had Enough There S Blood On His Hands And He Wants Out Trouble Is, This Job Is Not One You Can Just Walk Away From He Goes On The Run, Seeking Atonement For His Sins By Helping The People He Meets Along The Way But His Past Cannot Be Easily Forgotten And Before Long It Is Milton Who Is Hunted, And Not The HunterHEADHUNTERS Bury Your Enemies, And Bury Them DeepJohn Milton Thought He Was Done With Avi Bachman The Most Dangerous Man He S Ever Known Has Been Incarcerated In Angola, The Brutal Louisiana Prison Inmates Rarely Leave Angola Once You Go In, The Only Way Out Is In A Box But Bachman Is No Ordinary Prisoner He Was An Assassin For The Mossad, And He Has Favours To Call InMilton Is In The Australian Outback With An Old Friend And His Flirtatious Kid Sister, Looking For A Summer S Peace To Put His Troubled Mind To Rest But Bachman Has Other Plans He Thinks That Milton Killed His Wife, And Now He Wants Revenge From Australia To Israel, From Hong Kong To Croatia, Here Is The Conclusion Of This Brutal Chapter In Milton S Life The Two Headhunters Are On A Collision Course, And Only One Of Them Will Walk Away THE NINTH STEPMilton Is Keeping A Low Profile In London When He Meets Eddie Fabian Fabian Confesses That He Is Considering Suicide, And That The Reason For His Depression Was The Abuse That He Suffered As A Child Milton Offers To Help, But, Before He Can, Eddie Is Found Dead In Circumstances That Milton Considers SuspiciousAnd Then Events Take A Turn That No One Could Have Anticipated Milton S Attempted Good Deed Becomes A Quest To Unveil Corruption At The Highest Levels Of Government And Murder At The Dark Heart Of The Criminal UnderworldMilton Is Pulled Back Into The Game, And That S Going To Have Serious Consequences For Everyone Who Crosses His PathE JUNGLEAn Assassin Haunted By His Past Two Young Refugees Out Of Their Depth And In Need Of His Special TalentsJohn Milton Is No Stranger To The World S Seedy Underbelly But When The Former British Secret Service Agent Comes Up Against A Ruthless Human Trafficking Ring, He Ll Have To Fight Harder Than Ever To Conquer The Evil In His Path After Milton Meets A Refugee Who Lost A Sister To People Smugglers, He Travels Through War Torn Libya And The Murkiest Parts Of Italy And France To Get The Girl Back As Enemies Watch His Every Move, Milton Confronts A Group Of Albanian Pimps And Smugglers So Dangerous, They Could Easily Make This Mission His Last The Jungle Is A Gripping Standalone Thriller In Mark Dawson S Bestselling John Milton Series Read books 1 9 straight throughI thought these books were well written and engaging A lot of books I get through the first 5 pages and throw them out Dawson is an excellent story teller and Milton is a great protagonist I liked his character trying to repent for his earlier life, nothing fancy, just the ability to react without hesitation along with a sense of morality setting him apart Dawson has a great sense of humanism in his storytelling A A British andbelievable Jack Reacher, Another enthralling box set by MrDawson Our John certainly has a few demons and his life revolves around trying to find peace within his soul An average sort of guy with some particular skills righting wrongs a bit of a Jack Reacher and an Equalizer rolled onto one But he s British and he bleeds and gets some things wrong just like real people do Well done Mr Dawson onto the next book.
